Cody Nichelson

Cody co-founded Fully Financial to help bring fiduciary, fee-only financial planning to more families in Athens and beyond.

At Fully, Cody works mostly behind-the-scenes — keeping the firm's operations effective and efficient, helping ensure clients receive exceptional care, and strengthening the firm's community partnerships.

Beyond maintaining a high-quality client experience, Cody's work supports Fully's financial planners (Ben and Ryan), so they can spend less of their time on practice management and more of their time taking great care of our clients.

Upon graduating from the University of Georgia with a degree in public relations, Cody started his career at a communications agency, where he led the agency’s Athens office and worked on campaigns for national, regional, and local brands across multiple industries, including technology, higher ed, collegiate and professional sports, and healthcare.

Lured by the opportunity to help improve financial literacy and economic prosperity for local families, Cody transitioned to a fee-only financial planning firm where he served as communications director and chief of staff. In these roles, he led the firm’s day-to-day business operations, communications, business development, and cross-functional initiatives.

Cody is a First Honor Graduate of the University of Georgia and graduated top of his class from the UGA's Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication.

Outside of the office, Cody maintains deep connection and involvement with the Athens community. He serves on nonprofit boards for Georgia Key Club and Athens Area Habitat for Humanity. He is also a past director of the Athens Pride and Queer Collective (APQC) and Grady College's Young Alumni Council.

After being named the Athens Community Council on Aging's "retroProm King" in 2025, Cody joined the nonprofit's retroProm committee and serves as a retroProm mentor, helping plan and enhance ACCA's signature annual fundraiser supporting Athens aging neighbors.

Cody has been recognized by the Chamber of Commerce and Athens Magazine as one of Athens Top 10 Under 40 for his efforts in helping shape a better Athens and bright vision for the community.

In 2022, he was selected for LEAD Athens, an intense year-long program of the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce designed to develop effective community leaders. Two years after graduating from the program, he was appointed to the LEAD Athens Steering Committee.

Cody also enjoys spending time with his family, playing tennis, watching football (Go Dawgs!), visiting coffee shops, and taking long walks around the Classic City.
